Caribbean Oasis: Sunshine, Sisterhood & Serenity
S.I.S.T.A From Another Mister
Where Wellness Meets Island Luxury
Getting grounded – literally and figuratively with my best friend of 17 years was the perfect way to honor, celebrate and commemorate the sisterhood we’ve cultivated since childhood. St. Lucia was my first introduction to the Caribbean Islands and I couldn’t have imagined spending it any other person. Everything from the genuine hospitality, flavorful cuisine, to breathtaking views of the Piton Mountains made my soul feel at ease. Believe me when I say: The Caribbean Sun hits different and it truly provided me with the perfect reset to cap off 2024 in the most memorable way. A tropical paradise that is truly underrated!
Vitamin Sea
From the moment we were greeted with a wellness shot upon arrival at the Body Holiday resort, I knew this was the place for me! My spirit instantly felt at home and ready to recharge from the all-inclusive wellness amenities. Reflecting back on this getaway, this is the healthiest yet most active I have ever felt on vacation. Treating myself to a daily massage, body treatment or facial became my ultimate favorite self-care ritual. Being in community through water aerobics pool sessions, beach zumba, mixology classes, yoga on the deck to morning walks on the island coast and so much more filled my cup beyond measure. You truly need to experience this island for yourself to understand the depth of these experiences. All inclusive wellness is definitely the way to go. Thank you Jadie for picking the perfect getaway for our international girls trip!
Remaining grounded & present
Waking up at 6am? Say less, no problem! I was energized to hit the beach for a group cardio workout to bask in the feeling of sand in between my toes. Talk about natural exfoliation! What kept me most motivated was the exquisite ocean views and calm island breeze while putting on a good sweat.. Having limited connection to wifi and no TV in my room at the resort really forced me to be present and get the best quality sleep each night. Having a full active day allowed my body to organically wind down by the end of each night with no actual desire to binge watch television. It reinforced how dependent we are on materialism in the US and use technology for reasons to escape the present. Thank you BodyHoliday for reminding me of this important life lesson I learned over a decade ago while living the village life in Fiji. The most valuable gift we have is living in the present.
The best views require bravery
My Life long bucket list of finally trying scuba diving was finally checked off the list! One thing I definitely wasn’t expecting was the uncomfortable feeling in my ears as the air pressure changed going deeper into the sea (10-15ft). Equalizing became difficult to balance out the pain in my ears and that became memorable in my first time experience. I’m not sure if I will go the certification route but still glad I gave it a try. However, snorkeling forever has my heart– live action finding nemo vibes. The ocean just has a way of allowing me to feel calm, centered and grounded. I am a proud citizen of the sea. Growth often happens just beyond your comfort zone—and sometimes 30 feet underwater.

Soufrière state of mind: Caribbean glow loading…
Getting down and dirty in the most freeing way to achieve the perfect Caribbean glow.
Exfoliate, Cleanse, Rinse & Repeat.
The healthiest I ever felt on vacation and the best introduction to the Caribbean I could have ever asked for. As someone who has always prioritized good quality skin care, lathering up in this natural mud did wonders for me and allowed me to proudly exude my melanated charm :) I am forever an island girl and this trip to St. Lucia solidified that identity from within.

— Julien Alfred Olympic Gold Medalist | St. Lucia Brand Ambassador
Ultimate track star fan girl moment!!!!
From watching Julien Alfred live on the Olympics screen just 4 months prior, I never would have believed I would get the chance to meet her in her home country later that year. Destiny and fate at its finest. Being the first on the island to bring back a Gold medal was huge for St. Lucia, and as a fellow track star myself, it was full circle listening to Julien’s humble journey to stardom.
Such a beautiful person internally and externally and I truly admire her grit to achieve everything she worked so hard for. It took leaving her island home and relocating to another: Jamaica , to train and take her track career seriously and gain a full ride scholarship for college athletics prior to officially going pro. Flipping homesickness into inspiration speaks to her true character and ability to persevere on and off the track. Universal life skills that only true scholar-athletes embody and fully understand. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the LA28’ Olympics and manifesting a group workout training session with her during my next stay at the BodyHoliday!! fingers crossed
One thing that truly stood out to me about Julien was her resounding passion to create The Julien Alfred Foundation. It is a non-profit organization established by Julien to empower youth through sports, education, and community development. I loved how the foundation focuses on providing scholarships, training programs, and essential resources to help young Caribbean athletes achieve their fullest potential. Between the athletic and philanthropic platforms, she is putting her home island on the map for the world to see. Moral of the story; never underestimate the u n d e r d o g .
